Welcome to our site and the world of organic Alaskan fresh-roasted coffee. The mist and winds off the Matanuska River, just below our home and roastery, lend a sweetness and flavor to our beans that we feel is unmatched. We're biased, of course, but check our roasts out for yourself! Our next delivery will be Friday, the 5th of July, as Pam and I are leaving on a short trip directly after that delivery. Thanks for your patience and please let us know of any concerns you have!
The 150 members (88 women and 66 men) are part of the Asociación de Caficultores Indígenas de San Pedro (ASISP) in South Tolima, part of the Paez and Nasa tribes originally brought from southern Cauca by the Colombian Army at the beginning of the 20th century to work in gold mines. After independence, they became coffee farmers, managing the plantations organically, with meticulous care, some micro-lots scoring over 87 and higher in SCAA cuppings.
Profile: Crisp juicy peach, with lively acidity in the lighter roast becoming chocolate, walnut in the darker roast; full body and smooth.
