Cupping Notes: These fully washed beans give off a hint of lime, roasted almonds, orange and dark chocolate to produce a delicious and complex cup.
Roughly 40 producers from the municipalities of San Lorenzo, San Pedro de Cartago, La Unión, Colón Génova and Sancisa, within the department of Nariño, are working together to find an international market for their coffee. These farms are located in the central west region of Colombia. Each producer individually cultivates coffee on small farms of just a few acres and has their own micro-mill to carefully harvest cherries, depulp, ferment, wash and gently dry the parchment on raised beds. The group has well organized post-harvest practices that ensure a clean and consistent blend with just enough differences from farm to farm to create a rich complexity of flavors. These farmers are dedicated to reinvesting profits in their farms and strengthening their families’ livelihoods.
