Tasting Notes: Wet-hulled, hand-picked, sun-dried on raised beds in two steps with overwhelmingly rich earthy and syrupy chocolate notes, creamy mouthfeel and spicy vanilla finish.

Why ‘blue’ moon? Well, these beans are a beautiful shade of, that’s right, BLUE, before roasting, due to the wet-hulled process called Giling Basah (see ‘Coffee Info’ on our website). It is grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Agung in the Kintamani Highlands of central Bali between 1,200 and 1,600 meters on small diversely cultivated farms. The traditional farming philosophy, Tri Hita Karana, is still practiced today, the three sources of prosperity - environment, human and God. This applies to coffee cultivation - pesticides and fertilizers are never used. Growers have collaborated with regional exporters and Rain Forest Alliance who share intentions for sustainability, and soil, forest and water conservation. These organizations also assist with milling, traceability, and quality control. Take a transportive dive into this coffee variety!
